As some of you may know, this year I celebrate my 55th year in business. It’s a significant milestone for us as a brand, and for Joyce and myself personally, as I look back at my career.
One of the things I’m most proud of is how the brand has grown and how we’ve adapted to change, while still providing seamless care and attention to our clients around the globe. It’s that commitment to service that has garnered us the support and loyalty of clients throughout our brand’s history. To each and every one of them, I want to say thank you for allowing us to be part of your family’s history.
Speaking of family, I wouldn’t be where I am today without their love and support. First, my father, a very well respected member of the industry and an avid gem collector. As we mark this milestone, I can’t help but think back to my early years hearing stories of travels around the world in search of rare, collectible stones. I’ve been fortunate enough to inherit that same passion, as has my son JJ.
A large part of our longevity and success is thanks to my wife, Joyce. Like all good partnerships, she and I have each brought our own complementary skills and personality to the business. We truly built it together and wouldn’t be where we are today without her.
One of the things I’m most proud of is how the brand has grown and how we’ve adapted to change.
Every family business relies on the next generation to build on the work done before it, and I’m incredibly proud of the contribution our son, JJ has made to Ronald Abram, transforming us into a modern, high jewellery brand. He has created a bold and exciting new direction, ever conscious of the unique place that heritage family businesses hold in the world today.
As a business, I can’t reflect on our work without mentioning The Mandarin Oriental, our home now for 35 years. Like us, The Mandarin is also celebrating a milestone this year, 60 years in Hong Kong. I want to offer my warmest congratulations to The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and look forward to the festivities ahead.
Travel has always been a very important part of our business and I’m thrilled that Hong Kong is once again open and we look forward to welcoming our dear friends and clients back to Asia’s World City.
Thank you again for your continued and unwavering support, here’s to the next 55 years.
